Note: These two paintings from 1957 show that Juan Sisay taught his student Diego Pop Ajuchan to paint by copying his painting exactly.... the same way all the Tz'utujil artists taught any students. They will be kept together along with a note from Pop Ajuchan that verifies everything.

Note: This note was attached to the back of Pop Ajuchan's painting explaining why he was late in getting the painting to the woman who bought it. Juan Sisay had been sick and could not instruct him on the next steps.
It was only luck that I ended up with both paintings. I bought one from eBay and the Sisay was given to me by man living in San Francisco.
